This March through April 2017, set sail on an exhilarating program of ocean racing and leisure sails that explore the magnificent waterways, captivating natural beauty and disarming hospitality unique to this tightly held haven on the East Coast of Australia. This year, for the first time, a raft of exciting sailing events will run in conjunction with the 10 year anniversary of Sail Port Stephens – Australia’s fastest growing yachting regatta. It’s a discovery-packed season of sailing not to be missed!
Sailability Port Stephens Cup Regatta – Sat/Sun March 11-12
A friendly sailing regatta on Grahamstown Dam. Sail Port Stephens welcomes Sailability and Special Olympics for the first time, contesting the Port Stephens Cup Regatta at Grahamstown Dam.
Women Who Sail Gathering on the Bay – Sat/Sun April 1-2
Anticipating the strongest ever turn-out of yachtswomen from around Australia and the World for a weekend of inspiring seminars and Saturday Evening Social on D’Albora Marina. A challenge that draws performance yachts from all over Australia , drawn to experience the World-class cruising locations and varied sailing conditions.
Sail Port Stephens Trophy Series – Fri-Sun April 7-9
This is what it’s all about ! The fastest growing regatta on the Australian sailing calendar this internationally recognised yachting event is now in its 10th year. Tactically the location lends itself to a variety of courses with strong currents, shallow depths and unpredictable winds to keep contenders on their toes.
Super 12 NSW Championships – Fri-Sun April 7-9
The strongest fleet to date - around a dozen super-charged super-12’s will vie for the NSW title
NSW IRC Championships – Fri-Sun April 7-9
This year’s anniversary regatta includes this prestigious event for Sydney-Hobart style yachts, along with the international Super 12 classes and National titles for the Australian Sport Boat Association.
Sail Port Stephens - Mon - Sun April 3-9
Celebrating 10 years, the week long competition is back with plenty of sailing and activities.
In addition, a host of family friendly attractions and kids activities will be offered, both on shore and on the water, throughout the season. Spending the day sailing around Port Stephens then gliding into a beautiful bay to enjoy the spectacular sunset while feasting on a plate of fresh local oysters is all part of the experience.
