Port Harmony Presents "An Affair to Remember "

An Affair to Remember’ is a concert for the romantics amongst us! As usual, Port Harmony will perform a Classical feature work. On this occasion it is the German Mass D872 by Franz Schubert (sung in English), accompanied by wind players from Newcastle Youth Orchestra. The second half of the concert will include some glorious songs which will take us dreamily from Germany to New York, to London and beyond. Take a romantic journey with us: fall in love between the moon and New York city; turn your thoughts to summer being winter in the North; and let’s not forget: ‘Tis the season to be jolly!

The Musical Director is Kathryn Dries, and Callum Close is the Associate Artist.

Kathryn is a renowned soprano and teacher of voice in a career spanning over 25 years. She has a Bachelor of Music from Newcastle University as well as a range of qualifications and awards in both singing and piano.

Callum has been an Organ Scholar at Christ Church Cathedral since 2011. He holds executive positions with Musica Viva both in Newcastle and Sydney and is a passionate and dedicated Arts administrator, facilitator and collaborator. He is also a non-tertiary music teacher and repetiteur at the University of Newcastle.
