Couple, Family and Group accommodation in a Bush land Setting - Sand dunes at rear of property - Walk across the dunes to beach.

Set on 4 acres of bush land, The Retreat Port Stephens is a unique property backing directly onto the largest living sand dune system in the Southern Hemisphere, The Retreat has a total of 11 buildings spread through the bush land. This means there is plenty of room to move and each building has its own sense of privacy and coziness. With the facilities like the covered BBQ areas, salt water swimming pool, kids playground and games room, guests can feel free to relax with family and friends. There is also room for boats, trailers etc. so that people are able to have their special needs catered for.

Buildings are all fully self contained. Catering is available for functions and groups or we also offer bed and breakfast packages.

The Retreat is pet friendly with 3 pet enclosures close to the Cottages. Each enclosure allows for your pet to run around and feel free while being well contained and close by. We do ask guests to bring their pets blankets and food. There are plenty of places to take your pet while on your holiday such as to Stockton Beach and on the sand dunes. We do have a pet policy which is available upon request.

Pets charges are $8 per day or $40 per week.

The Retreat is the perfect place to let your kids disconnect from their devices and get back to nature while you relax and enjoy the tranquil setting. We have a great play ground area, large grassy areas for ball games and the games room for a game of pool, table tennis or just relax in a lounge. You can also bring along the kids bikes to explore the property ride and along the many bike tracks in the area.

The Retreat is the ideal setting for Weddings. You can have your Wedding in the Gardens with a beautiful bush back ground or out on the spectacular Sand dunes and then your reception and entertainment onsite. No need to hire cars or guests travelling home after your reception.

Cancellation Policy

Individual Cabins & Bungalows bookings Refunds on deposits less a $50 cancellation fee are only possible if: A) Cancellations are made in writing or email, more than 10 weeks prior to arrival date. If this advice is received more than 10 weeks prior to arrival date, then a full refund is possible less the cancellation fee. B) Cancellations are made less than 10 weeks prior to arrival but more than 3 weeks prior to arrival. We need to re-book the same building for the same price and dates. Once this has happened then a full refund is due less the cancellation fee. If we are unable to re-book the building then the deposit is non refundable. C) Cancellations less than 21 days prior to arrival - nil refund. If cancellations are less than 21 days prior to arrival then all monies that have been paid for are non refundable. Group bookings and multiple building bookings Refunds on deposits less a $100 cancellation fee are only possible if: A) Cancellations after deposit has been paid. We need to re-book the same building for the same price and dates. Once this has happened then a refund is due less cancellation fee. If we are unable to re-book the building then the deposit is non refundable. B) Cancellation less than 21 days prior to arrival nil refund. If cancellations are less than 21 days prior to arrival then all monies that have been paid for non refundable. High Peak Times (High Peak times are mid December to the end of January, Easter School Holidays and all Public Holidays and Long Weekends) There are no refunds for cancellations of any bookings over these periods.
