Destination Port Stephens (DPS) is working closely with Tourism Australia and Destination NSW to bring you up to date travel information. We are following the advice and regulations set out by the Australian Government, NSW Department of Health and the NSW Government.
Travel restrictions have been lifted and holidays will be allowed in NSW from June 1, however NSW has temporarily shut its border with Victoria from July 8 to contain the spread of COVID-19. You can read more about the border closure here.
NSW residents are able to take a holiday anywhere in NSW. Travellers from interstate (except Victoria) are able to visit NSW for a holiday but will need to comply with the rules of their home state when returning. However, everyone is encouraged to exercise personal responsibility for personal hygiene and social distancing to prevent community transmission.
As with any trip, we encourage all travellers to seek the most updated travel information relating to their destination prior to departure. Please ensure you call your planned accommodation venue, attractions and book into or check restaurants to ensure they will be open and confirm your bookings before travelling.
We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back and are following the guidelines and regulations as set out by the NSW Government. We're also encouraging everyone to exercise personal responsibility for social distancing to keep all our community and visitors safe.
Online purchases for travel from June 1 are available, however, if you are in doubt we recommend you contact the business direct or the Visitor Information Centre on 1800 808 900.
We will try and keep as up to date as possible, however things are changing on a daily and sometimes an hourly basis.
The Port Stephens Visitor information Centre is open Monday - Saturday from 9am - 4pm and Sunday 10am - 2pm.
