Gin and Jazz Festival @ Murrays Brewery

Free live jazz and blues concerts will feature across the weekends with performers who specialise in jazz, grooves, blues and soul. They will play a selection of classic tunes by artists including Frank Sinatra, Nina Simone, George Benson, Michael Buble and Van Morrison.

3 Gins.. In addition to Murray’s flagship ‘Gentleman Smith’ East Coast Gin, Murray’s is releasing two further gins especially for the festival.

The first is a different take on a classic dry gin – a spicy, peppery gin with a mix of sweet and savoury flavours making it a perfect base for a martini. The second is a lemon myrtle gin. It’s bold, very aromatic and distilled with local lemon myrtle leaves. The brewers say, “it’s packed so full of flavour that you can see it.”

New Gin Beer.. In honour of the occasion, Murray’s will also be serving up its first ever ‘gin beer’. Yes, that’s right! ‘Ginni Hendrix Pale Ale’ is bold and experimental – just like its namesake. A light, dry malt base allows the gin flavours to shine through this unusual pale ale, with just enough caramel to stand up to the aromatic flavour of the botanicals. Drinkers are left with a unique dry mouthfeel, reminiscent of gin.

Gin Masterclasses.. Learn all about brewing, and getting the most out of tasting craft gin! Gin masterclasses will be run at 1.30pm each day of the weekends by Murray’s brewers. The class costs $5 per person, and runs for 45 minutes. Bookings essential.

Gin Cocktails.. Murray’s will be serving up a range of non-traditional gin-based cocktails – as you probably haven’t experienced before.

And More . . Of course the usual line-up of Murray’s award winning craft beers will also be pouring. The kitchen will be serving up great winter barbecue dishes, beer-based gourmet pizzas, delicious burgers and an array of healthy food options and kids meals too. And Murray’s Brewery Bus will run as usual on the weekends.
