Science in Practice: Developing Our World
To celebrate National Science Week, The Faculty of Science presents a day of fun and exciting interactive activities and presentations for the whole community.
SCHEDULED ACTIVITIES
• 11:00 am – 1:00 pm - Mini electric vehicle workshop
Construct your own mini electric vehicle to race around a track.
• 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm - BBQ
Rotary will host a BBQ with sausage sandwiches and drinks available.
• 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm - Hands-on interactive science displays
Activities include homemade solar cells, rocks and minerals, magic beads (water absorption), earthquake machines, cup stacking, balance boards, hovering magnets, electrostatic generators, mind over matter, liquid nitrogen icy poles and various SMART Program activities.
• 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm - Practical research highlights
Listen and learn as our academic experts present 4 minute snapshots of their practical research.
• All day - Campus environment walks
These 10-minute guided walking tours will allow you to explore Callaghan campus and inspire you to think about place differently, and the role of place in developing our world.
