TRAVEL ALERT PRIOR TO VISITING
There are so many things to see and do. Of course there are our obvious natural stunners - the beaches, the waterways, the dunes, the whales, the dolphins - but our holiday destination provides visitors with so many activities, attractions and tours that you may have to extend your stay to experience them all.
From sand-boarding on giant dunes in Anna Bay to parasailing above bottlenose dolphins on the pristine waters of Nelson Bay and Shoal Bay, Port Stephens is a fun adventure destination.
So much to do... challenge the kids to a game of mini golf, get in the tanks and have a go at feeding the hand-raised sharks and rays, ride a camel, take the controls in the cockpit of a jet fighter, see whales, slide down a dune, swim with the dolphins - an experience not to be missed. Whether you’re the adventurous type or looking for some good, safe family fun you’ll find something for everyone.
The kids will love Splash Waterpark in Nelson Bay, foot golf, go-karting, and getting up close and personal with the baby animals, and koalas at Oakvale Wildlife Park. Slide and Ride... take a slide down Toboggan Hill or a 40m sand dune on a sandboarding tour. Ride a horse, camel, surfboard, SUP or quad bike.
Discover Fingal or Broughton Island on a guided tour, catch the ferry to Tea Gardens, head west to Raymond Terrace and visit the Botanic Gardens then call into Tanilba Bay for an Eco Tour at Tilligerry Habitat - see koalas in their natural habitat and learn about bush tucker. Try your hand at rock climbing, ten-pin bowling, paintball or battle zone. Chill out with the stars at the cinema or shop ‘til you drop at the shopping centres, markets and the Nelson Bay precinct.
